Ryan Smith

President

Ryan Smith serves as the President of SECorps, where he leads a dynamic international network of commercial mechanical service contractors committed to people development and performance excellence. Under his leadership, SECorps has expanded its training footprint through innovative programs like the High-Performance Leadership Program (HPLP), the Proactive Sales Workshop Follow-up Forums, and a comprehensive Multi-Associate Workshop Series focused on sales, service, leadership, and team engagement.
Ryan also spearheaded the successful launch of SECorps’ new website and Learning Management System, ensuring members have modern access to training tools, registration, and on-demand content. He is the architect behind SECorps’ Peer Forums and revamped Mentorship Program, fostering collaboration and accountability across Sales, Operations, Dispatch, and Customer Service leaders.
Known for his direct style, commitment to member value, and strategic foresight, Ryan has helped solidify SECorps as a premier platform for growing leaders and organizations in the HVAC and energy services industries. He also serves as CEO of SR Holdings Group, LLC, providing executive services to high-performing companies across the country.

Background

In 1999, several high performing commercial/industrial/institutional HVAC, energy services and building automation companies met to discuss the potential of building an organization focused on providing the training necessary for them to continue to grow their businesses.  In addition to training and skill development, the group wanted platforms to exchange ideas and best practices with other leading high-performing companies in the same industry.

At the base of these discussions was the belief that finding, developing, and retaining the right people is the core essential for business growth.  And without this essential, all the other elements involved in business growth do not matter.

CORE BELIEF

People are the foundation of a business – and the skills and professionalism of the people within an organization determines the quality of the services provided, the loyalty of both clients and employees and the growth and profitability of the enterprise. So, in 2000, the Service Excellence Corps (or SECorps for short) was founded with a focus on providing these services to the SECorps Associate Companies.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOCUS

Since the technical skills requirement can vary widely by company and market, the decision was made to focus on the “soft skills” or “people skills”. This includes skill development in customer service, sales, leadership, and management. While our focus is on “soft skills”, we also have modules that address HVAC basics for those that are new to our industry.
